BREAKOUT DESCRIPTIONS
First Set of Breakouts
Mary: The First Christian Theologian
Tyler & Jessie Wittman
Christians have always seen Mary as an example of what it means to follow God. Her Magnificat reveals a woman soaked in scripture and thereby able to understand and interpret how God is at work in His people’s lives. What can we learn from a woman about theology? And how does this encourage all women to step into the role of disciple and student of theology?
Mental & Emotional Health for Families and Women in the Church
Kathy Steele & Tsuwainla Jamir
Mental and emotional health in our families is a priority for our spiritual health. We will discuss how mental and emotional health are foundational for a healthy family and church, and how women can learn to guide themselves, their family, and their church in this direction.
Second Set of Breakouts
Reading Psalms in an Age of Screens
Ethan & Emily Jones
We are constantly distracted and do all we can to resist boredom. We scroll screens, compare our lives to the edited versions of others, and binge our nights away streaming shows. We go to sleep and wake up wondering if our mundane life has real meaning. The Psalms speak loudly to our moment, and in this talk, we consider how we can learn to listen to what is good, true, and beautiful.
